Abuja is set to play host to the leading domestic tourism and travel show The Abuja Jabamah. The 8th edition is slated for the 11th of March 2022. The leading tourism personalities in Nigeria will be inducted into the prestigious Tourism 100 Club, Class of 2022.
Members are top personalities in Nigeria who have made a mark through their contributions to the development of tourism in Nigeria and they cut across sectors including government, hospitality, tour operations and the media. The induction will be the 4th batch as members as have previously been inducted in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The event put in place for stakeholders in the travel and tourism sector to see ways of collaborating with each other, as well as encourage travels within the country have over the years have had dignateries like Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, DG Nigeria Council for Arts and Culture; High Commissioner of Ghana; High Commissioner of Namibia; Ambassadors of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Senegal, Ethiopia and the DG National Park Service in attendance.
The event is also set to feature Travellers Award ceremony, with different catergories like ‘Tourism Governor of the Year; Aviation Man of the Year; Airline of the Year; Most Active Tourism States; the Best Beach Resort in Nigeria; Top Tourism Promoters of the Year.
Some notable names that have previously been inducted into the Tourism 100 Club include DG National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe and DG, the former Commissioners for Tourism in Lagos and Plateau States, Steve Ayorinde and Mrs. Tamwakat Weli respectively.
Abuja Jabamah is a Travel event put together by the organizers of Akwaaba African Travel Market in its efforts to drive domestic tourism. It seeks to play host to a huge travelling population, hotels, tour operators and travel agents. Participation is expected from state tourism boards, operators and other tourism professionals.
