Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced yet another reduction in the prices of both Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and aviation fuel (jet A1) in a bid to ensure fair pricing for its products. The new prices stand at N940 and N980 per litre for diesel and aviation fuel, respectively.
This latest price slash comes just two weeks after the oil firm previously reduced prices from N1,200 to N1,000 per litre. In a statement, Dangote highlighted that the significant reduction in diesel prices is expected to have a positive impact on various sectors of the economy and contribute to alleviating the high inflation rate in the country.
The revised price of N940 applies to customers purchasing five million litres and above from the refinery, while the price of N970 per litre is applicable to customers buying one million litres and above.
Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Head of Communication at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, emphasized that the decision to reduce prices aligns with the company’s commitment to mitigating the economic challenges faced by Nigerians. He further disclosed that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has forged a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas Stations to ensure that consumers can access fuel at affordable prices across all their stations nationwide, from Lagos to Maiduguri.
Observers in the Oil sector describe this move by Dangote Petroleum Refinery as one that underscores its dedication to fostering economic stability and providing relief to consumers amid prevailing economic hardships in Nigeria.
