The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has set a goal to improve service delivery by 30 per cent over the next year with the launch of its new Service Charter. The initiative, unveiled during an official ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, outlines the commission’s strategy to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of Nigeria’s identity management services.
Represented by the Director of the Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit, Mr. Elias Okafor, NIMC’s Director-General, Dr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, said the commission is committed to cutting waiting times for enrolment and card issuance by at least 30 per cent within 12 months.
“The charter is anchored on four key principles, including efficiency, with a target to reduce average waiting times for enrolment and card issuance by at least 30 per cent within the next 12 months,” Coker-Odusote stated, stressing NIMC’s resolve to enhance the user experience and streamline identity services nationwide.
The commission said the reform would ensure faster service delivery, greater transparency, and improved public satisfaction as part of its ongoing digital transformation agenda.
