The trade volume between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia has surpassed $600 million, underscoring the strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Saudi Arabia’s Charge d’Affaires, Mr. Saad Fahad Almarri, disclosed this during the Kingdom’s 95th National Day celebration. He highlighted the rising bilateral trade figures as evidence of deepening partnerships, while also noting cooperation in tackling drug trafficking and expanding opportunities in education.
According to Almarri, hundreds of Nigerian students have benefited from scholarships offered by Saudi institutions, further cementing people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The envoy explained that the Kingdom’s National Day not only commemorates nearly a century since King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud unified Saudi Arabia, but also reflects its steady path of growth and development.
He stressed that relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia continue to grow across trade, education, and joint security efforts, reaffirming Riyadh’s commitment to expanding cooperation and integration with Nigeria.
Almarri also conveyed the Kingdom’s appreciation to the Nigerian government and people for their longstanding partnership, emphasizing a shared determination to build stronger bilateral relations.
