The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has received a delegation from the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Secretariat to strengthen collaboration under the Business Environment Enhancement Programme Accelerator (BEEPA).
The delegation was led by Mrs. Aimeya Okpebholo. The BEEPA initiative is a focused 90-day reform programme running from January 26 to April 26.
During the visit, Mrs. Okpebholo reaffirmed PEBEC’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s business climate. She said the Council is working to strengthen regulatory efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to her, BEEPA brings selected MDAs together in functional clusters. The goal is to deliver measurable and client-focused improvements in service delivery.
She explained that the programme is designed to ensure regulatory compliance moves beyond documentation. Instead, it aims to produce practical and visible improvements at service points for businesses and citizens.
By clarifying institutional roles and applying evidence-based validation, BEEPA seeks to reduce administrative bottlenecks. It also aims to accelerate service processes and deepen transparency across government operations.
The Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, welcomed the PEBEC team and expressed appreciation for the visit.
He reiterated NAICOM’s statutory mandate and highlighted the pivotal role of the insurance sector in Nigeria’s economic development.
Mr. Omosehin also briefed the delegation on ongoing reforms within NAICOM. He said the Commission is implementing measures to strengthen service delivery in alignment with BEEPA’s objectives.
According to him, the reforms reflect NAICOM’s commitment to regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, and stakeholder-focused service improvement.
Stakeholders say the collaboration signals a coordinated push to enhance Nigeria’s ease of doing business framework through structured and time-bound reform actions.
