Moniepoint has acquired the Nigerian operations of Orda for an undisclosed sum, integrating its suite of products into a new offering, Moniebook for Restaurants.
Founded in 2020 by Guy Futi, Fikayo Akinwale, Mark Edomwande, Kunle Ogungbamila, Namir El-Khouri, Orda provided restaurants in Nigeria and Kenya with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, website tools, credit services, and business analytics. Orda’s Kenyan operations will continue independently, while 25 Nigerian team members have joined Moniebook.
The acquisition strengthens Moniepoint’s footprint in the restaurant tech space, where merchants already drive significant transaction volume through its network, with Nigerians spending over ₦8 billion daily in 2025. By embedding Orda’s operations software into Moniebook, restaurants can now manage orders, accept payments, and track performance within a single system, reducing errors and improving efficiency.
Moniepoint also expects the integration to enhance its ability to provide financial services, including working capital loans, using richer insights from transaction and inventory data.
For Orda, the deal offers a pathway to scale its technology within Moniepoint’s broader financial ecosystem, while Moniepoint gains a ready customer base and tools tailored to restaurant operations. The transition will be gradual, allowing existing Orda users to migrate to the unified Moniebook system.
This acquisition follows trends in Nigeria’s restaurant tech sector, where platforms like Chowdeck have also been consolidating market share through similar acquisitions.
