Big Bull Rice Emphasises Quality, Authenticity in Nigeria’s Competitive Rice Market

Big Bull Rice has reaffirmed its commitment to quality, authenticity and consumer trust as competition intensifies in Nigeria’s rice market.

Rice remains one of the most widely consumed foods in Nigerian households. It is a staple in daily meals and also features prominently during celebrations and special gatherings across the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the company said the brand has built a strong reputation among consumers due to the consistency of its grains, which are described as long, firm and uniform. When cooked, the rice is non-sticky, stone-free and has a high swelling index.

The product is available in several consumer-friendly pack sizes, including 2.25kg, 5kg, 10kg, 25kg and 50kg.

To protect consumers and reduce the circulation of counterfeit products in the market, the company said it has introduced a distinctive holographic seal tape. The seal is designed to help buyers easily identify authentic packs of Big Bull Rice.

A consumer, Shola Dairo, said the feature gives her confidence when purchasing the product.

“Big Bull Rice is so intentional about its consumers that every purchase I make feels truly worth it. For the health of my children, the holographic seal gives me peace of mind, especially with all the counterfeits out there,” she said.

“The quality is unmatched, it swells beautifully, is stone-free and cooks perfectly, whether it is for a family meal or a large gathering. It has never failed me, and that is why it remains the only rice I trust for my home,” Dairo added.

The Chief Marketing Officer at TGI Group, Probal Bhattacharya, said the brand remains committed to maintaining product quality and strengthening consumer confidence.

“Big Bull Rice is trust sealed in every pack, quality in every grain and bonding in every meal. Our consumers trust that they will receive the same values, the same nutrition and the same premium experience, no matter the pack size they choose,” Bhattacharya said.

He added that the holographic seal serves as a symbol of authenticity and assurance for consumers.

“The holographic seal in every Big Bull Rice pack stands as a beacon of authenticity and assurance. Our commitment remains to uphold a gold standard that Nigerian households deserve and can always rely on,” he stated.

According to the company, Big Bull Rice is a premium parboiled rice brand that is milled to be stone-free and designed with a swelling index that helps retain taste and texture during cooking.

The rice also contains nutrients such as B-vitamins, iron, dietary fibre and protein, and has a relatively low glycaemic index.

The product can be used to prepare various dishes commonly enjoyed in Nigerian homes, including Jollof Rice, Fried Rice, white rice and coconut rice.

The company added that the product is distributed nationwide to ensure accessibility for consumers across different regions.
