The Dangote Group has announced its sponsorship and full participation in the Kano International Trade Fair, scheduled to hold from November 22 to December 6, 2025.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, said the company is committed to supporting the annual event, which is expected to attract over 1,000 exhibitorsfrom within and outside Nigeria.
Chiejina emphasized Kano’s strategic importance to the conglomerate, describing the city as the “hub of commerce, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa.” He noted that Kano is home to one of the company’s large-scale rice mills currently under development.
He further revealed that additional rice milling plants are being developed in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto States, with a combined milling capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum, a move aimed at supporting the Federal Government’s food security drive.
According to the statement, the company’s subsidiaries will operate special help desks at the trade fair to engage the public and explore potential business partnerships. As part of its activities for the event, the Dangote Group will also unveil new sugar pack sizes of 100 grams and 25 kilograms on its Special Day at the fair.
Chiejina added that the theme for this year’s fair, ‘Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth,’ aligns with Dangote’s long-term vision for sustainable development across Nigeria.
The statement also quoted the Senior Adviser on Special Projects & Strategic Relations to the Dangote Group President, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, who noted that the company’s sponsorship aims to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by offering them platforms to showcase their products, connect with partners, and access new markets.
President of the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Hassan Darma, confirmed that the fair will feature around 100 organizations and over 1,000 exhibitors.
Darma highlighted the significant improvements and expansion at the fairground, noting that the Dangote Groupremains one of the key sponsors and promoters of the event.
“We have a valued long-standing relationship with the Dangote Group. It is our major sponsor. This year, we hope to partner with them on SME development, backward integration, and industrial skills transfer,” he said.
