Dangote Petroleum Refinery has confirmed its capacity to supply fuel volumes well above Nigeria’s estimated domestic consumption, the company stated in a release on Thursday.
The refinery noted that it can produce 75 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, surpassing the estimated national consumption of 50 million litres. Similarly, it can supply 25 million litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) per day, compared with the estimated daily demand of 14 million litres.
In addition, Dangote Petroleum Refinery highlighted its ability to produce 20 million litres of aviation fuel daily, significantly higher than the estimated domestic requirement of four million litres.
The company emphasized that these surplus volumes provide critical supply buffers, strengthen market stability, and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports, particularly during periods of peak demand or logistical challenges.
“The management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery would like to reiterate our capability to supply the underlisted petroleum products of the highest international quality standard to marketers and stakeholders,” the company said in a public notice, listing 75 million litres of PMS, 25 million litres of AGO, and 20 million litres of aviation fuel daily.
The announcement underscores Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s role in ensuring energy security and supporting Nigeria’s drive toward self-sufficiency in petroleum products.
