The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again reduced the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lowering the ex-depot rate from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre.
Real-time market data from Petroleumprice.ng on Friday confirmed the latest downward review, reflecting a ₦129 per litre decrease—representing a 15.58 percent reduction from the previous benchmark price.
A source familiar with market operations said: “The refinery reduced its petrol price to ₦699 per litre.”
The new pricing structure took effect on December 11, 2025, and stands as the 20th petrol price adjustment introduced by the refinery within the year.
This development comes just days after the refinery’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, reiterated his commitment to ensuring “reasonable and competitive” fuel prices for Nigerians, despite persistent global oil market volatility and the challenge of fuel smuggling across the country’s borders.
Following a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, Dangote stated that pump prices would continue to decline as the refinery ramps up production volumes and competes more strongly with imported petroleum products.
The latest reduction is expected to ease pressure on marketers and may influence retail pump prices nationwide as the refinery expands its supply footprint.
