Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through its nationwide Clinics initiative, which he described as a vital tool for job creation, poverty alleviation, and economic growth.
Speaking at the 7th Expanded National MSME Clinics held in Akure, Ondo State, on Wednesday, Shettima said the programme forms part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at unlocking the vast potential within Nigeria’s small business sector.
According to the Vice President, the clinics are designed to bring government services closer to entrepreneurs, remove regulatory bottlenecks, and offer on-the-spot assistance to small business owners.
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Ayadatiwa, hailed the initiative as a timely intervention that aligns with the state’s drive to promote entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development.
Also lending support, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, described the MSME Clinics as a landmark initiative that strengthens grassroots development and enhances inclusive growth.
The programme brings together key federal agencies to support MSMEs in areas such as registration, access to finance, and compliance with standards, helping create an enabling environment for business success.
