FG Strengthens Partnership with Islamic Development Bank to Speed Up Road, Bridge Projects

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with international development institutions to accelerate the completion of strategic road and bridge projects across the country.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, made this known while receiving a delegation from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Regional Hub in Nigeria, led by the Team Leader, Operations, Ibrahim Chalive, during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mohammed Ahmed, on Thursday, discussions during the visit focused on deepening collaboration between the Federal Ministries of Works and Finance and the IsDB to fund and implement critical components of the Renewed Hope Legacy Road Projects being championed by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Umahi noted that road infrastructure plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda, stressing that the ministry is committed to transparent, innovative, and cost-effective project delivery.

“Infrastructure remains a major driver of economic growth, and our commitment is to ensure that every project under this administration reflects transparency, innovation, and value for money,” the Minister said.

He expressed optimism that the partnership with the Islamic Development Bank would further enhance funding efficiency, accelerate project timelines, and contribute to the broader national development goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
