Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has officially announced the 18th edition of the Indomie Heroes Awards, calling for nationwide nominations to recognise exceptional Nigerian children whose actions are making a positive impact in their communities.
The organisers said the initiative celebrates young Nigerians who demonstrate bravery, compassion, creativity, and leadership, highlighting stories that inspire hope and national pride.
For the 2026 edition, two key updates have been introduced to broaden participation and strengthen the programme’s impact.
Most notably, the eligibility age has been expanded to include children from 0 to 16 years. Previously, the programme accepted nominations for children up to the age of 15.
According to the organisers, the adjustment is aimed at capturing a wider range of inspiring stories and ensuring that no deserving child is excluded from recognition due to age limitations.
Another change is the earlier opening of submissions compared to previous editions. Parents, guardians, teachers, and community leaders across Nigeria now have more time to nominate deserving children before entries close in June 2026.
The organisers believe the early call for nominations will increase awareness and encourage communities nationwide to share stories of young changemakers whose actions reflect courage, empathy, and leadership.
Speaking on the launch, the Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods, Temitope Ashiwaju, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s belief that courage can be demonstrated at any age.
He noted that expanding the age limit and opening nominations earlier would create more opportunities for communities to spotlight inspiring young Nigerians whose actions serve as a source of hope for the country.
After the submission deadline, entries will undergo a detailed screening and adjudication process by a panel of judges.
The process will conclude with a grand awards ceremony scheduled for October 2026, where the newest set of Indomie Heroes will be officially unveiled.
Nomination guidelines and entry details are available on the programme’s official website.
Now in its 18th year, the Indomie Heroes Awards remains one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms dedicated to celebrating child heroism.
Since its launch in 2008, the initiative has highlighted remarkable stories of young Nigerians who have saved lives, defended others against injustice, supported vulnerable people in their communities, and created innovative solutions to everyday problems.
Beyond recognition, winners of the awards receive scholarships worth millions of naira, reflecting the programme’s long-term commitment to supporting the education and development of promising young leaders.
