Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, a leading engineering and construction company, has intensified its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in Rivers State, leaving a notable impact on local communities.
Last week, the company sponsored the annual Interhouse Sports competition at Community Primary School, Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt, providing trophies, event canopies, and other logistical support. Community Liaison Officer Hon. Chike encouraged students to cultivate focus and discipline, underscoring Julius Berger’s commitment to both academic and personal growth.
Earlier, senior secondary students from Bloombreed Schools visited Julius Berger’s Regional Office on the Eastern Bypass for a career-focused excursion. Led by Regional HSE/CSR Manager Tim Oseghe, the visit included a safety induction, technical sessions, and a hands-on tour of the company’s operations. Students were guided by experts including Laboratory Supervisor Kelly Ngbor, Civil Engineer Elorah Adebola, and HSE Supervisor Mike Fanisi.
In February, the company also sponsored joint interhouse sports competitions across multiple schools. At these events, Gabriel Ubani, Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board, encouraged students to balance academics with sports. Representatives from Julius Berger further emphasized holistic child development and the importance of positive life choices during visits to Model Primary School, Nkpogwu.
According to Oseghe, Julius Berger’s CSR programs are designed to nurture the next generation, promoting students’ overall well-being and preparing them for future challenges.
Beyond education and sports, Julius Berger has supported orphanages, provided vocational training for girls, and invested in broader community development projects across Rivers State and Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to social impact and sustainable community growth.
