Kasim appreciates Lagos State administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu for his committement on total transformation of Health institution and making Lagos Education a 21st Century compliance with emphasis on science and technology.

Mr.Tokunbo Wahab, Special Adviser to the Governor Lagos State on Education said “Education and Technology is the 3rd pillar of the six development Agenda of this administration.

It underscores the importance that the state government attached to education right from the inception, which of course is the foundation upon which other development pillars rested on”Mr.Tokunbo Wahab, who was represented by Mr. Adeniran Kasali ( Permanent Secretary) said the ceremony is a demonstration of the State Government’s commitment to provision of quality and quantitative education, geared towards a better and rewarding future for our youths.

He advised the students to be studious, well behaved , focused and self disciplined, so that government huge investment in education will not be a waste.

They should always be conscious of the need to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government and the society at large by shunning clandestine activities such as cultism, thuggery, drug abuse, raping, kidnapping and other vices capable of derailing them from achieving the goals of education.

“Emphasizing, there is a greater decline in the health care delivery system in the country and there is an urgent need to change this narration through qualified and dedicated health personnel across the country to savage the situation as careers in health technology.”

”In the last 2 years of this administration, there has been significant increase in the budgetary provision for education and all our Tertiary Institutions are witnessing rapid infrastructural development, of which this great college is not exempted.”

According to Wahab,”The massive infrastructural development projects on -going in this college and other state owned institutions are a testimony to the State government commitment to educational growth and youth development.”

The 21st century educational system is therefore knowledge driven. This has definitely placed an enormous responsibility on you as scholars under this system as you are expected to bridge the gap between the old system of education which is analogue and the new system technology.

The special adviser challenged the students to consider themselves as part of the change agent expected to bring a robust development to nation’s health care delivery system.

As supervising Ministry, the Office of the Special Adviser on Education (OSAE) will continue to implement government policies and programmes in education in the best possible ways that will fast tract developments on campuses while repositioning our institutions to become one of the best in the country and Africa at large.

Mrs Toyin Oke -Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary,Parastatals Monitoring Office , described the Lagos State College of Health Technology as premier destination for excellent learning, producing and world -class Allied Health Care professionals .
