The President of the Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), Mr. Abimbola Olashore, has said that creating a structured market for Nigeria’s creative industry and strict adherence to international standards would significantly increase the volume of Nigeria-British trade beyond the current £8 billion.
Olashore made this known when he led a delegation of NBCC officials on a courtesy visit to the management of THISDAY and ARISE TV media group to explore a strategic partnership.
Welcoming the team, the Managing Director of THISDAY, Mr. Eniola Bello, commended Olashore for putting forward the partnership proposal. “We are for you as long as the relationship is mutually beneficial. You can count on our support in terms of what you are doing,” Bello assured.
Olashore emphasized that the NBCC has been central in promoting Nigeria-UK trade through initiatives such as its annual trade mission to London and the Nigeria-UK Business Dialogue. These platforms, he explained, provide opportunities for business leaders and government agencies from both nations to address challenges hindering trade.
He added that the proposed media partnership would help strengthen visibility and drive conversations around unlocking new opportunities in bilateral trade.
