Delta State, Niger-Delta, Nigeria – The Nedogas Development Company Limited (NDCL), a Joint Venture between Xenergi Limited and NCDMB Capacity Development Intervention Company, in collaboration with the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), has successfully concluded the construction and technical commissioning of the Kwale Gas Gathering (KGG) and injection facility.
Located in the Umusam Community near Kwale in Delta State, the 300MMscfd Capacity KGG facility represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s gas infrastructure development. The formal commissioning ceremony of the facility, scheduled for June 6, 2024, will be presided over by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo.
Joining the minister at the commissioning ceremony will be the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Felix Omatsola Ogbe.
Observers say the Facility offers independent operators in the region the opportunity to monetize natural gas from their fields by utilizing the gas gathering, compression, injection, and metering infrastructure of the KGG for expedited access to the market as it is strategically designed to address the challenges of stranded gas resources in Nigeria’s OML56 oil province.
