The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced that Nigeria has achieved full pipeline availability for the first time in two decades.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari, disclosed this at the 7th African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO) National Oil Companies CEOs Forum. He said the milestone was achieved through enhanced collaboration between NNPC Ltd, host communities, and security agencies.
According to Ojulari, the achievement has restored confidence in the resilience of Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
A statement by NNPC’s Spokesperson, Andy Odeh, on Tuesday reaffirmed the company’s readiness to partner with other African nations to ensure sustainable energy security. Ojulari highlighted strategic projects such as: The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, The Nigeria–Morocco Gas Pipeline.
He said these initiatives are designed to deepen regional integration and expand cross-border energy trade.
Ojulari further stressed the urgency for Africa to accelerate its energy transition, warning that the decline of European investments in fossil fuel refineries—most set to phase out by 2030—makes it vital for the continent to harness its abundant natural resources.
