The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited is exploring hydrogen collaboration opportunities and deepening the Gas Master Plan with Nigeria LNG (NLNG) as part of preparations for a net-zero energy future.
Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Mr. Bayo Ojulari, made this commitment during a visit to the NLNG plant on Bonny Island, Rivers State, over the weekend.
Ojulari described NLNG as “a beacon of governance, performance, transparency, and sustainability” in Nigeria’s dynamic energy sector. He said the visit created an opportunity to engage with the NLNG team, review operational progress, and identify new ways to drive continuous improvement.
According to him, the partnership will enhance plant availability, boost revenue generation, and support Nigeria’s long-term energy sustainability agenda. He reaffirmed NLNG’s pivotal role in driving the country’s energy transition, economic stability, and industrial growth.
Welcoming the NNPC boss, NLNG Managing Director and CEO, Philip Mshelbila, outlined the company’s operations and business outlook. He described NNPC as a dependable shareholder committed to strengthening NLNG, securing the gas value chain, and overcoming recent industry challenges.
