The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has disclosed that it remitted a total of ₦6.96 trillion to the Federation Account within the first five months of 2025.
This was contained in the company’s Monthly Report Summary for June, released on Monday. The report also showed that NNPC recorded a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₦905 billion for June, a drop from ₦1.054 trillion posted in May.
In spite of the profit decline, the latest figures indicate a steady increase in government revenue, as the ₦6.96 trillion statutory remittance from January to May represents a significant rise from the ₦5.58 trillion recorded between January and April.
NNPC also reported a rise in crude oil and condensate production, which climbed from 1.629 million barrels per day (bpd) in May to 1.68 million bpd in June—the highest daily output recorded so far in 2025.
However, revenue for June dipped to ₦4.571 trillion, down from ₦6.008 trillion in May, reflecting fluctuations in the global oil market and shifting crude prices.
The company noted that the production rebound and sustained remittances affirm progress in upstream operations, while also highlighting the importance of ongoing market reforms and stability in boosting fiscal performance.
