The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has reported that 35.88% of gas produced in Nigeria in July 2025 was exported.
According to the regulator, daily gas production for the month rose to 7.59 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD). Of this volume, 27.82% was supplied to the domestic market, while 29.13% was utilized for field and plant operations.
NUPRC explained that oil and gas companies deployed significant volumes for in-house purposes such as fuel, gas lifting, and reinjection for pressure maintenance.
The report also revealed that Gas-to-Power supply hit its strongest level in three months, with average daily deliveries rising 3.48% month-on-month, from 833.86 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) in June to 862.86 MMSCF/D in July.
A review of the first seven months of the year showed the following daily averages for Gas-to-Power supply:
- January: 780.23 MMSCF/D
- February: 849.37 MMSCF/D
- March: 886.83 MMSCF/D
- April: 886.7 MMSCF/D
- May: 837.64 MMSCF/D
- June: 833.86 MMSCF/D
- July: 862.86 MMSCF/D
The July figure represents the highest Gas-to-Power delivery in three months, underscoring the sector’s growing role in stabilizing Nigeria’s electricity supply.
