PEARL Awards Names Udoma Udo Udoma Chairman for 2025 Anniversary Edition

The Board of Governors of the PEARL Awards Nigeria has announced the Chairman of Seplat Energy and former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mr. Udoma Udo Udoma, as Chairman of the 2025 PEARL Awards Nite scheduled to hold in Lagos on November 30, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Project Manager of PEARL Awards 2025, Mr. Olisemeka Obi, and quoting the Awards’ President, Mr. Tayo Orekoya, Udoma was commended for his outstanding leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s economic development. Orekoya said the choice reflects the organisation’s tradition of recognising individuals who have made significant impact in the business and regulatory space.

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will attend as the distinguished guest of honour, while the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, will serve as special guest of honour. Other notable industry leaders expected include the Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga, and the Director-General of the SEC, Dr. Emomotimi Agama.

The 2025 edition marks the 30th anniversary of the PEARL Awards, recognised as Nigeria’s only capital market-based performance recognition platform. This year’s ceremony, themed “Celebrating a Legacy of Corporate Excellence,” will honour quoted companies and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional governance standards, transparency, and market performance.

A total of 15 Sectoral Leadership Awards and 10 Market Excellence Awards will be presented, culminating in the top honour, “The PEARL,” awarded to the most outstanding quoted company of the year.

The anniversary celebrations began on June 24, 2025, with the PEARL Awards Corporate Summit, themed “Built to Last, Roadmap for Corporate Nigeria.” The summit featured regulators, CEOs, investors, and thought leaders discussing how to sustain excellence in a rapidly changing economic environment.

A key highlight was the unveiling of a commemorative publication titled “The Winning Strategies of Nigeria’s Corporate Giants,” capturing insights from leading corporate executives and chronicling three decades of corporate innovation and resilience.

The 2025 Awards Nite will serve as the grand finale of the anniversary celebrations, bringing together top business leaders, policymakers, investors, regulators, and media stakeholders for a night of recognition, glamour, and inspiration.
