PwC Nigeria, Lagos Business School Partner to Boost ESG Compliance

PwC Nigeria and Lagos Business School have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliance and risk management practices among Nigerian organisations.

Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the collaboration will deliver sustainability and climate-focused capacity-building programmes targeting professionals, senior executives, and board members. The initiative comes as organisations face mounting pressure from regulators, investors, and stakeholders to improve disclosure standards and climate risk management.

The partnership leverages PwC’s advisory expertise and Lagos Business School’s academic and executive education framework, with the goal of integrating sustainability into corporate strategy, governance structures, and operational processes. Programme delivery is expected to begin in 2026 and will be accessible across sectors.

Uloma Ojinmah, Partner and Business School Leader at PwC Nigeria, said, “Through this collaboration with Lagos Business School, we are enhancing sustainability capability across Nigerian organisations. Drawing on PwC’s advisory experience and LBS’s executive education expertise, we are equipping professionals and leaders to integrate sustainability into strategy, capital allocation, risk management and operational execution in ways that support resilience and long-term enterprise value.”

Marilyn Obaisa-Osula, Partner for ESG, Sustainability & Climate Change, added that organisations capable of managing sustainability effectively are better positioned to anticipate risks, meet regulatory expectations, and gain competitive advantage.

Oreva Atanya, Director of the LBS Sustainability Centre, highlighted that sustainability is essential for economic value creation and addressing climate, environmental, and social challenges. She said the collaboration combines academic depth with practitioner experience to build credible, policy-relevant ESG capability within organisations.

The programme will focus on practical understanding of climate risk, sustainability strategy, and regulatory requirements, aiming to embed these considerations into governance systems and institutional processes, ensuring that ESG priorities are translated into measurable outcomes.
