” With the huge tourism potentials existing in the country, we should not be complaining about lack of jobs, individuals must be creative and tap into these tourism potentials.’
” The colorful festivals of individual communities should be explored as business opportunities for tourism in the country. When showcased, not only will they bring in visitors into the country, they will also boost commecial activities in such communities. ‘
According to him, there is so much Nigeria has to offer the international communities in terms of our cultural heritage. He describes the country as a land filled with a rich cultural history.
” The second tallest story building in Nigeria is in Otta, it should be better developed to attract international tourists; a lot more monumental buildings across communities can also be converted to tourists sites,” he said.
Managing Director, Sabre Network, West Africa, Dr Gbenga Olowo, who was represented by Mayowa Badewa, Deputy Zonal Director of the Travel Network, also added that most African countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Gambia were doing well in tourism because they have been able to work on improved connectivity, good infrastructures, visa relaxation policy and much more.
