Tetracore Opens 60,000 SCMD CNG Facility in Ogun

Tetracore Energy Group, through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited, has inaugurated a 60,000 Standard Cubic Metres per Day Auto Compressed Natural Gas facility in Ogun State.

The company said the development marks a significant investment in clean energy infrastructure along the busy Lagos–Ibadan industrial corridor.

In a statement made available to The PUNCH, Tetracore noted that the facility is strategically located to serve transporters, logistics operators, manufacturers, and businesses within Ogun State and neighbouring regions.

With an installed capacity of 60,000 SCMD, the plant is expected to fuel more than 100 vehicles daily. This is projected to ease supply constraints for buses, trucks, and other commercial CNG-powered vehicles.

Operators said the project would help reduce fuel costs and support Nigeria’s emission reduction goals by promoting compressed natural gas as a reliable alternative to conventional fuels.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group, Dayo Williams, described the project as both an infrastructure milestone and a community investment.

“The commissioning of this auto CNG facility represents our unwavering commitment to delivering practical energy solutions that power businesses, lower transportation costs, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security,” he said.

“This is not just a fuelling station; it is critical infrastructure that supports cleaner mobility, industrial productivity, and long-term economic growth. We are proud to be playing a leading role in driving the nation’s transition to sustainable energy.”

Williams added that for residents of the host community in Ogere, the project represents jobs, opportunities, and long-term economic inclusion.

The Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Saliu, welcomed the development, describing it as a turning point for the community.

“This project brings development, employment, and opportunity to our people. We are pleased that Tetracore Energy Group has chosen Ogere as the home of this important clean energy initiative,” he said.

According to the statement, the Ogere plant forms part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its midstream and downstream gas distribution network nationwide, including compressed natural gas, piped natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and gas-to-power solutions.

The company said the inauguration signals its commitment to powering progress, strengthening energy security, and building a cleaner, more sustainable future for Nigeria.
