FG Launches National Land Titling Programme to Unlock $150bn in Dormant Capital

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate release of N45 billion, representing 50 per cent of the contract sum for the Bwari Township and Karu Water Supply projects, to CGC Nigeria Limited.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, disclosed this yesterday during the official flag-off of Lot 1 of the Bwari Township Water Supply project.

Wike expressed optimism that the contractors would deliver the projects in time for commissioning during the President’s third anniversary in office in May 2026.

“The President has mandated that the contract duration be 18 months, but we discussed with the contractors and pleaded with them to ensure that, by the third-year anniversary of Mr. President, these projects will be ready for commissioning,” Wike said.

He added that once the contractors assured the government of timely delivery — provided funds were released — the President approved the upfront payment of half of the total contract sum.

The projects are expected to significantly improve water supply in Bwari and Karu communities within the FCT.
