The Association of British Professional Conference Organizers (ABPCO) has revealed the finalists for its 2021 Excellence Awards.
- Best Conference by an In-House Conference Organiser – RCP for Medicine 2021; Macmillan for Macmillan Live 2021; and Renewables for Global Offshore Wind 2020
- Best Conference by an Agency Conference Organiser – Brightelm for Peacejam European Online Youth Conference; MCI UK for King’s Live 2020; and Millbrook Medical Conferences for BCIS ACI Virtual Experience 2021
Additional awards will be made available to both in-house and agency PCOs who deserve recognition for their submissions.
The industry and partner recognition awards – nominations for which were received from both agency and in-house PCOs – will be revealed at the ceremony.
This year ABPCO also added Innovation and CSR Awards: the Innovation Awards will be announced at the ceremony, whilst the shortlist for the CSR Award is comprised of P&J Live, Visit Belfast and EICC.
The winners of the 2021 ABPCO Excellence Awards will be revealed on 9 December, 2021 at ExCeL during an in-person event that will mark the end of ABPCO’s week-long Festival of Learning.
Shortlisted candidates have been selected by an independent panel of judges, but the winners will be selected following delegate judging prior to the awards. Details for the voting process will be sent to the registered delegates prior to the event.
“This is the eighth year that we have run the ABPCO excellence awards and each year we see an increase in the quality of entries,” comments Heather Lishman, ABPCO’s association director. “2021 marks the end of another challenging year for our industry but our members have remained incredibly resilient and demonstrated this through the creativity and innovation they have brought to their events. This year saw new ideas, ways of working and relationships develop across the whole of the ABPCO membership, and this has translated into an incredible line-up of finalists. Good luck to them all.”
For 2021, the Excellence Awards mark a celebratory conclusion to ABPCO’s Festival of Learning. The Festival will see a wide range of industry experts delivering relevant content to a global audience of Association Event Professionals over seven days.
