The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) yesterday said its officials will meet with that of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to sort out the interference issue of compatibility of 5G services and the aviation industry.
Speaking yesterday in Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja during the formal public presentation of the 5G policy and the handing over of Bulk Spectrum to NCC for onward allotment to successful bidders of the 3.5GHz to 3.9GHz Spectrum by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Pantami, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, of the NCC,
Prof Umar Danbatta, said concerns raised recently in the aviation sector on possible interferences would be addressed at the stakeholders meeting. The government however assured of the safety of the technology in the country, citing China, Indian, United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), United Arabs Emirates (UAE) and others as countries that are already reaping the benefits of the technology. Pantami handed over the Bulk Spectrum to the Chairman of the Governing Board of the NCC, Prof Adeolu Akande.
