Access Bank Launches DiamondXtra Season 17, Revives ‘Salary for Life’ with N228.7m in Total Prizes

Access Bank has officially kicked off Season 17 of its flagship DiamondXtra loyalty reward scheme, promising bigger rewards, deeper inclusion, and a renewed focus on transforming lives across Nigeria.

To mark the launch, 165 customers were rewarded with cash prizes ranging from ₦5,000 to ₦100,000 in onsite draws held at the Lagos Trade Fair Complex. The event showcased the return of one of the most anticipated features—‘Salary for Life’, where winners will receive ₦200,000 monthly for 15 years, totalling ₦36 million each.

DiamondXtra, a hybrid account that combines the benefits of both savings and current accounts, has stood out for over a decade by automatically entering account holders into life-changing cash draws.

Speaking at the launch, Adaeze Umeh, Unit Head of Consumer Banking, confirmed that three winners will be selected quarterly for ‘Salary for Life’ and highlighted several new features for Season 17:

Digital Cluster Draws via the Access More app, where customers can generate referral codes. Once a group of 50 qualifies, they enter a group draw to win ₦100,000.

150 cluster draws, with 30 dedicated exclusively to women, supporting Access Bank’s growing ‘W’ community focused on empowering female entrepreneurs.

A target of 12,000 winners this season—three times more than the 4,000 from Season 16—with total rewards of ₦228.7 million.

“We listened to customer feedback. In 2019, they asked for ‘Salary for Life’. Last year, they wanted cars, and we delivered. This year, 40% voted for Salary for Life again—and we’re delivering,” Umeh said.

Olukemi Olayinka, Regional Sales Director, also emphasized the broader impact:
“Over 33,000 families have benefitted since DiamondXtra began. It’s more than rewards—it’s about economic empowerment and entrepreneurship support.”

Access Bank now offers up to ₦10 million in collateral-free loans to small businesses, based on turnover. This complements financial literacy training, mentoring, and business support provided under the scheme.

The programme has already attracted over five million account holders, with the bank aiming to onboard one million more by the end of 2025.

To participate, customers can dial *901*5# or visit any Access Bank branch to open a DiamondXtra account with a minimum deposit of ₦5,000.

“The more you save, the more your chances of winning,” Olayinka noted, reinforcing Access Bank’s commitment to inclusive banking and community impact.

DiamondXtra Season 17 will continue its rollout across major regions, including Lagos, Abuja, South-West, and North-Central, solidifying its place as Nigeria’s most far-reaching financial reward scheme.
