The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) recorded a revenue of ₦6.008 trillion in May 2025, reflecting a marginal rise from the ₦5.972 trillion posted in April. This is according to the company’s latest Monthly Report Summary released on Monday.

The state-owned energy giant also saw a notable 14% jump in profit after tax, reaching ₦1.054 trillion in May compared to ₦926 billion in April.

Crude oil and condensate production showed slight but steady improvements, climbing to 1.63 million barrels per day (mbpd) in May, up from 1.61mbpd in April. The month’s peak production hit 1.72mbpd.

A closer look at the figures reveals that crude oil output remained steady at 1.35mbpd, while condensate production edged up to 0.28mbpd from 0.26mbpd. Gas production also recorded a slight uptick to 7.352 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd), marginally above April’s 7.354bscfd. However, gas sales slipped to 4.185bscfd from 4.240bscfd.

On the sales front, crude oil and condensate volumes jumped to 24.77 million barrels in May, significantly higher than April’s 22.16 million barrels. This marks the highest monthly sales volume since February.

NNPC Ltd’s performance in May continues to reflect cautious optimism in the oil sector, buoyed by improving market conditions and modest gains in production efficiency.
