The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has extended by three months the deadline for companies to onboard and transition to the National E-Invoicing Solution.
Chief of Staff to the FIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Tayo Koleosho, made the announcement in Lagos during a two-day E-Invoice Post Go-Live workshop. Represented by Emmanuel Eze, Director of Change Management at FIRS, Koleosho said the extension is designed to give stakeholders the necessary time to finalise integration, conduct test transmissions, and resolve any outstanding technical issues ahead of enforcement.
“The E-Invoicing Solution for Large Taxpayers officially went live on 1st August 2025, marking a significant milestone in modernising tax administration in Nigeria,” he said.
According to the agency, significant progress has been recorded since the launch, with over 1,000 large taxpayers already onboarded — about 20% of the target group. Early adopters, including MTN Nigeria, Huawei Nigeria, and IHS Nigeria, have begun live invoice transmissions through the platform.
The National E-Invoicing Solution aims to improve compliance, enhance transparency, and streamline tax processes for large corporations, forming part of the FIRS’s broader digital transformation strategy.
