The Federal Government of Nigeria, in partnership with Estonian stakeholders, has finalised plans for a $400 million capital funding project to boost agricultural commodity value chains and establish data hubs in every local government area across the country.
The official agreement signing ceremony will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, on September 24.
According to agricultural commodity and rice expert, Dr. Kenechukwu Aloefuna, one of the project facilitators, the initiative is titled: “AGRIC Aid Volunteer Scheme and the Integrated Climate Resilient Innovation Project for Empowering Smallholders, Advancing Sustainability, Integrating Food, Energy and Water Security for Resilient Communities.”
The Nigerian firms involved include the Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Expansion Project (ACVEP) Limited, First Values360Ventures Limited, alongside the Federal Government. On the Estonian side, partners are Values360Ventures OU, Lanmer OU, and Organic New Earth.
Dr. Aloefuna noted that the project aims to empower smallholder farmers, strengthen climate resilience, and integrate food, energy, and water security for sustainable rural development.
