The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, has said that massive investment in agri-entrepreneurs will significantly enhance food production and accelerate Nigeria’s journey toward food security.
Kyari stated this during the World Food Forum (WFF) Nigeria Chapter Side Event, themed “Bridging Policy and Innovation: Youth at the Forefront of Agri-Food Transformation.”
He emphasized that empowering young entrepreneurs to drive innovation, create economic opportunities, and foster productivity and inclusivity is essential for transforming the nation’s agricultural sector.
“Transforming a nation’s food system requires aligning national policies with innovation and empowering youth as co-architects of Nigeria’s agricultural future,” Kyari said.
In a statement issued by the Head of Information, Ezeaja Ikemefuna, the Minister reiterated that under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, agriculture has been positioned at the core of the government’s national development agenda.
He noted that food security is not just an economic goal but the foundation of national sovereignty and stability.
Kyari added that through the Renewed Hope Vision, the Federal Government is implementing bold measures to strengthen production, rebuild confidence in food systems, and empower youth, who he described as the future architects of Nigeria’s agricultural economy.
