The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) are set to deliver a 10-megawatt electricity supply to the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park in Odukpani, Cross River State, in a move aimed at strengthening industrial productivity and energy reliability in the region.
According to a statement by NDPHC’s Head of Corporate Communications and External Relations, Emmanuel Ojor, the collaboration began in 2025 with an expression of interest and has since progressed following a stakeholder engagement held on February 25, 2026.
The project will see power supplied from the Calabar Generation Company Limited, which is expected to provide stable and sustainable electricity to support operations within the industrial park.
The Nigerian Oil and Gas Park in Odukpani is designed as a specialised industrial hub to support downstream oil and gas activities, including production, processing, and distribution of petroleum products and gas-based materials.
Officials say the initiative is expected to significantly ease long-standing energy challenges that have hindered manufacturing and processing operations in the area.
Beyond powering industrial activities, the project is also projected to boost local manufacturing capacity by encouraging the production of equipment and components used in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The partnership between the two agencies reflects ongoing efforts to deepen local content development and improve infrastructure support for critical industries in the country’s energy value chain.
