Zenith Bank Plc has secured approval from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) to extend the deadline for submitting its audited half-year financial statements for the period ended June 30, 2026.
The lender disclosed this in a notice to the investing public dated August 18, 2026, signed by its Company Secretary, Michael Osilama Otu.
Zenith Bank was initially required to submit its audited H1 2026 financial statements by August 29. Following an application by the bank, the NGX granted an additional six weeks for the completion of the filing process.
The extension moves the new deadline to October 9, 2026, meaning Zenith Bank could publish its audited half-year results on or before that date.
The bank explained that its Board of Directors approved the financial statements on July 29. However, the accounts are still awaiting final clearance from the lender’s primary regulator before they can be released to the investing public.
According to Zenith Bank, the regulatory approval process was responsible for the delay in publishing the audited results.
The lender expressed confidence that it would complete the necessary regulatory process and publish its audited financial statements before the extended deadline.
The extension comes as several major financial institutions face delays in submitting their half-year audited results amid ongoing regulatory and audit requirements following the completion of their June 2026 accounts.
Access Holdings Plc has also secured an extension from the NGX for its H1 2026 audited financial statements, with its new filing deadline set for September 30, 2026, subject to the required regulatory approval.
Zenith Bank’s extended deadline gives the lender additional time to complete the regulatory clearance process before releasing its audited financial performance to the market.
