Dangote Cement Plc, Africa’s largest cement manufacturer and the most capitalised industrial company on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, recorded group revenue of N2.514 trillion in the first half of 2026.

The unaudited financial statements submitted to the NGX on Wednesday showed that revenue increased by 21.35 per cent from N2.072 trillion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

The company attributed the growth largely to sustained domestic demand and strong operational efficiency across its key African markets.

Dangote Cement’s domestic operations remained the major driver of the group’s performance, with revenue rising by 25.17 per cent to N1.805 trillion from N1.442 trillion in the first half of 2025.

Domestic operations accounted for 9.70 million metric tonnes of the 14.94 million metric tonnes sold across the group during the six-month period.

The domestic business also delivered N1.086 trillion in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation.

Meanwhile, the company’s Pan-African operations maintained steady revenue growth, generating N775.35 billion during the period.

The figure represents a 13.67 per cent increase from the previous year, while the Pan-African business contributed N136.57 billion to group EBITDA.

The strong revenue performance translated into double-digit growth in profitability.

Gross profit increased by 30.51 per cent to N1.590 trillion from N1.218 trillion in the first half of 2025, while operating profit rose by 30.66 per cent to N1.060 trillion.

Profit before tax surged by 34.43 per cent to N981.39 billion, supported by a significant reduction in net finance costs.

Net finance costs fell to N112.11 billion from N216.16 billion in the corresponding period, as foreign exchange losses and interest charges eased.

Net income subsequently increased by 22.69 per cent to N638.53 billion, while basic earnings per share rose by 24.33 per cent to N38.22.

The company sustained its growth momentum in the second quarter, recording revenue of N1.316 trillion between April and June 2026.

The second-quarter revenue represented a 22.19 per cent increase from the N1.077 trillion recorded in the same period of 2025.

Second-quarter profit before tax rose by 34.01 per cent to N560.22 billion, while net profit stood at N317.44 billion, compared with N311.21 billion recorded in the second quarter of the previous year.

Despite continued operational and macroeconomic pressures, Dangote Cement kept cost growth below the pace of revenue expansion.

Total production cost of sales increased by 8.29 per cent to N924.31 billion, driven mainly by fuel and power consumption of N384.49 billion and raw material costs of N225.41 billion.

Selling and administrative expenses were also affected by higher logistics costs, with haulage expenses rising to N318.60 billion amid continued energy and transportation pressures.

The group’s balance sheet also expanded during the period.

Total assets increased by 9.62 per cent to N6.622 trillion, while net assets rose by 21.00 per cent to N3.170 trillion.

The stronger financial performance and balance sheet position are expected to support investor sentiment towards Dangote Cement as the company continues to expand its operations and strengthen its position across African markets.
