FirstBank Kicks Off DecemberIssaVybe Campaign with Kenny Blaq’s Reckless Musicomedy Festival

December is a time of celebration and reflection for Nigerians as they come together to unwind, celebrate, and create lasting memories with loved ones. The month is filled with vibrant arts and entertainment, including musical concerts, plays, festivals, operas, fashion shows, and much more. The festive spirit is heightened by fireworks, street carnivals, and Christmas decorations, all topped off by year-end thanksgiving parties.

In recognition of the importance of December, FirstBank, through its First@arts initiative, hosts the annual DecemberIssaVybe campaign. This campaign aims to inspire Nigerians to create thrilling memories by offering free access to some of the biggest concerts, shows, and festivals, featuring A-list entertainers.

Given the challenging economic climate, FirstBank’s efforts provide much-needed relief, making it easier for Nigerians to celebrate and enjoy the season. For over 130 years, the bank has been deeply embedded in the society, consistently supporting major music events featuring some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Kizz Daniel, Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tiwa Savage, creating unforgettable moments for music lovers.

The DecemberIssaVybe campaign is designed to deliver memorable experiences for Nigerians and international audiences alike. Since its launch in 2018, the campaign has offered exciting, highly anticipated events each December, making it one of the highlights of the festive season.

As the 2024 year-end celebrations approach, FirstBank has curated an exciting lineup of events to ensure maximum enjoyment through DecemberIssaVybe. The campaign kicked off on Saturday, December 13, at Onikan Stadium in Lagos, with the sponsorship of Kenny Blaq’s Reckless Musicomedy Festival.

Through interactive social media activities, FirstBank distributed free tickets to young Nigerians and entertainment enthusiasts eager to attend the show. The event, which began in the late afternoon and continued into the night, featured an unforgettable evening of laughter, music, and performances from DJ Neptune, Kenny Blaq, Aproko, MC Monica, OvyGodwin, and many more.

The festival merged the worlds of music and comedy, showcasing Africa’s impressive entertainment talent. Emerging artists also took the stage, receiving enthusiastic applause from the crowd. Comedian and singer Kenny Blaq, who headlined the festival, delighted fans with his blend of dance, music, and comedy. Prior to the event, he explained his vision for the festival, saying, “Music and comedy have always been intertwined for me. I wanted to create an event that celebrates both in a unique way, encouraging boldness, creativity, and fun.”

The festival’s theme celebrated a positive interpretation of recklessness, highlighting courage, creativity, and authenticity. FirstBank added to the festive atmosphere with a fun booth where attendees could participate in trivia games, take photos, and receive mementos.

Olayinka Ijabiyi, Ag. Group Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at FirstBank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to delivering a “Wow December to Remember” experience for all generations. “FirstBank is facilitating memorable homecoming experiences this December, supporting gatherings such as weddings, family reunions, and festivals,” he said.

Ijabiyi also emphasized FirstBank’s 130-year legacy of supporting the arts through its First@arts initiative. He encouraged Nigerians to take full advantage of the entertainment offerings through the DecemberIssaVybe campaign, further reinforcing the bank’s dedication to creating memorable experiences while ensuring the well-being of its customers.

With over 500 VIP tickets available for premium events valued between N15,000 and N50,000, the FirstBank #DecemberIssaVybe and #FirstBankIssaVybe giveaway fest is set to reward customers with access to exciting events across Lagos.

Nigerians eager to join in on the festivities can follow FirstBank on social media—Facebook: First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Instagram: @firstbanknigeria, and Twitter: @firstbankngr—to stay updated on ticket giveaways and experience the vibrant party atmosphere this season.
