The grand finale of FirstBank of Nigeria Limited’s ‘WinBig’ promo draw held recently at its head office in Lagos concluded with excitement as six lucky customers emerged as millionaires, each receiving N1 million. The promo, which commenced in October last year, marked one of the most extensive campaigns in the financial industry, with FirstBank aiming to give out N170 million in cash rewards and recharge cards to participating customers who met the qualifying criteria for the monthly draw selections.
Adesola Adeduntan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FirstBank Group, praised the customers for their partnership and patronage over the years during the event. Represented by Ini Ebong, the bank’s Executive Director, Treasury and International Banking, Adeduntan highlighted that the promo was designed to reward both new and existing customers for their transactions, including incremental deposits and savings, on their FirstBank accounts. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to prioritizing its customers by rewarding them for their loyalty.
“At the onset of the promo, we set out to give 170 million naira cash rewards to our customers who participated and met the criteria to qualify for the monthly draws,” said Adeduntan. “I am happy to announce that 1,240 customers have been rewarded in fulfilment of our promise today. Today, six more customers who have been certified to meet the criteria for the final draw will be rewarded with N1 million each.”
Ikemefula Nwachukwu, Head of Personal Banking at FirstBank, disclosed that 1,240 winners had previously won N100,000 each in the four draws. Additionally, six fortunate individuals were now millionaires, while 40,000 customers received N1,000 airtime each as part of the promo.
The draw was conducted in the presence of representatives from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA), ensuring transparency and fairness. Nkiru Onuzulu, zonal coordinator, Lagos zonal office, NLRC, commended the transparency of the process and acknowledged the positive impact of the cash prizes in alleviating economic hardships faced by families in Nigeria.
Moreover, two past winners from the previous draws, Precious Daniel and Nnaji Alphonsus, who each won a cash prize of N100,000, were recognized during the event, adding to the atmosphere of celebration and gratitude.
