The Federal Government’s ICT infrastructure provider, Galaxy Backbone Limited, has entered into a partnership with Simba Infrastructure Limited to expand the deployment of unified communications and call centre solutions across Nigeria.
The partnership, announced in a statement on Tuesday, aims to accelerate the adoption of locally hosted communication services among government institutions and private sector organisations.
Under the collaboration, both companies will provide Hosted Unified Communications and Hosted Call Centre Solutions designed to improve customer and citizen engagement while enhancing operational efficiency and data security.
The alliance combines Simba Infrastructure’s expertise in converged communications technologies, systems integration, and enterprise engagement with Galaxy Backbone’s nationwide digital infrastructure, including its fibre-optic network spanning 30 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the statement, the partnership will deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective communication solutions tailored to the needs of Nigerian organisations.
Simba Infrastructure will lead private-sector business development efforts by offering customised communication and call centre services for enterprises. Galaxy Backbone, meanwhile, will focus on driving adoption within government institutions through secure, locally hosted data centre services that support regulatory compliance and reliability.
Director at Simba Infrastructure, Sanjay Vaswani, described the agreement as the beginning of a broader technology deployment strategy in Nigeria.
“Simba is pleased to mark this first phase of collaboration, with a long-term vision of deploying fully localised, AI-driven technologies that enable developers to build and scale using naira-based solutions,” Vaswani said.
Profit Centre Head at Simba Infrastructure, Aminu Usman, said the partnership represents a major milestone in delivering cloud-based communication solutions to Nigerian organisations.
“By combining Galaxy Backbone’s robust infrastructure and strong public sector presence with Simba’s customer-centric approach and technological expertise, we are creating a powerful platform to drive digital transformation and business growth,” Usman stated.
Also commenting, General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Regional Business at Galaxy Backbone, Abdul-Malik Suleiman, said the partnership aligns with the organisation’s commitment to expanding secure and reliable ICT services nationwide.
He noted that the collaboration would strengthen the delivery of innovative, locally hosted unified communications and call centre solutions for both public and private sector organisations.
The statement added that the partnership supports Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda by improving communication platforms, collaboration tools, and locally hosted digital services.
It also noted that the initiative would help organisations improve customer experience and operational effectiveness while ensuring that critical information and data remain securely hosted within Nigeria.
