EKEDP Launches Smart Power App to Improve Customer Electricity Management

Eko Electricity Distribution Plc has introduced the EKEDP Power App, a smart digital platform designed to give customers greater control, visibility, and convenience in managing their electricity consumption.

The app was developed to simplify everyday electricity management by allowing users to buy tokens, pay bills, transfer energy units, monitor power usage, manage service requests, and access multiple electricity services from a single platform.

According to the company, the digital solution is designed around the needs of modern consumers in Lagos and aims to reduce the stress, uncertainty, and fragmented processes often associated with electricity management.

The company explained that the app would create a faster, simpler, and more connected customer experience for electricity users within its coverage areas.

Since the unbundling of the former National Electric Power Authority and the emergence of electricity distribution companies in Nigeria, several DisCos have launched various digital applications to improve customer engagement and service delivery.

However, EKEDP stated that its new app goes beyond the regular features commonly offered by other electricity distribution companies.

In a statement jointly signed by the Head of Department, Client and MDA Management, Ejiro Olaleye, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations Strategy and Corporate Development, Olumide Jerome, the company said the app was specifically designed to empower customers to manage their electricity consumption more effectively.

“With the EKEDP Power App, customers move from simply using electricity to actively managing their power with greater confidence and control,” Olaleye said.

She encouraged customers within the company’s licence areas to take advantage of the platform to improve how they manage electricity usage and related services.

Each electricity distribution company in Nigeria is responsible for distributing electricity within designated geographical licence areas.

EKEDP’s coverage area includes the southern part of Lagos State as well as Agbara in Ogun State.

For operational efficiency, the EKEDP licence area is divided into 12 districts, including Agbara, Ojo, Festac, Ijora, Mushin, Orile, Apapa, Lekki, Ibeju, Islands, Ajah, and Ajele.

Electricity consumers across these districts are expected to benefit from the new digital innovation aimed at improving customer experience and service delivery.
