Nigeria’s Single Window Processes N11.27bn Payments as 114,122 Trade Documents Are Issued

Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) platform processed 114,122 licences, permits, certificates and other regulatory documents and facilitated payments worth N11.27bn between March 27 and August 17, 2026.

The Phase One rollout status update showed that 10,818 importers and agents had registered on the platform, while five Ministries, Departments and Agencies had been fully onboarded.

More than 8,000 users have also received training as part of efforts to drive adoption of the digital trade platform.

The update showed that 24 of the 27 airlines operating within the platform’s scope had been onboarded, with 2,139 air cargo manifests transmitted through the system.

However, adoption among shipping lines remained significantly lower. Only 23 of 88 shipping lines had been onboarded, with 43 manifests transmitted, representing a platform usage compliance level of 26%.

The report said the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency had completed their readiness requirements, while their operational integration into the NSW platform remained in progress.

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria had also completed its readiness requirements and recorded 100% platform usage compliance.

SON processed the highest volume of transactions under the licences, permits, certificates and other regulatory documents component, handling 78,957 documents and facilitating payments of N9.02bn.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control followed with 34,815 documents processed and N2.20bn in payments.

The National Agricultural Quarantine Service processed 38 documents and received payments of N30m, while the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency processed 311 documents and recorded payments of N10m.

The report further stated that the Nigeria Customs Service, importers, freight forwarders and clearing agents had attained full readiness and were operationally ready on the platform, with 100% compliance recorded for the relevant LPCO processes.

For the Nigeria Customs Service, the platform recorded 100% compliance for licences, permits, certificates and other regulatory documents, although document and payment volumes were listed as not applicable under the reporting framework.

In the transport segment, air cargo manifest compliance stood at 89%, with 24 of 27 airlines onboarded. Shipping-line cargo manifest compliance, however, remained at 26%, reflecting the participation of only 23 of 88 shipping lines.

The National Single Window is expected to proceed to Phase Two of its rollout as the Federal Government seeks to reduce paperwork, improve transparency and shorten cargo clearance times.

The next phase is also expected to provide a more seamless interface between traders, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders across Nigeria’s trade ecosystem.
