The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s food security agenda through sustained agricultural mechanisation and innovation.
The President of ACCI, Dr. Emeka Obegolu, made this known in Abuja during a press briefing to announce the second edition of the Farm, Food and Allied Technologies Expo (FEAT 2025).
Obegolu said the chamber, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, will use the three-day expo to showcase innovative mechanised solutions, attract investments, and promote technology-driven growth across the agricultural value chain.
The event is scheduled to hold from November 10 to 12, 2025, at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Represented by the Director-General of ACCI, Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, Obegolu noted that while Nigeria had not yet achieved full food sufficiency, mechanised farming remained the most viable route to sustainable productivity and food stability.
“We don’t have food security yet, but we are moving towards it,” he said. “Mechanisation enables large-scale production—what one or two people could do manually can now be multiplied several times through technology. That’s the major focus of this initiative.”
He explained that the expo would serve as a strategic platform for innovation exchange, policy dialogue, and partnership building between local and international stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
According to ACCI, the goal is to strengthen Nigeria’s food systems by enabling farmers and agribusinesses to adopt modern technologies, increase output, and reduce post-harvest losses.
