Cadbury Nigeria Plc recorded revenue of N83.35 billion in the first half of 2026, representing an 8 per cent increase from N77.25 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
The company disclosed this following the approval of its unaudited financial statements by its Board of Directors.
Gross profit also increased by 10 per cent during the period, rising to N24.12 billion from N21.86 billion reported in the first half of 2025.
However, profit declined during the period, with Cadbury Nigeria reporting N8.10 billion in profit for H1 2026, representing a 20 per cent decrease compared with N10.17 billion recorded in the same period last year.
Commenting on the results, Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria, Ayman Fahmy Gaafar, said the company continued to navigate a challenging operating environment marked by elevated costs and weak consumer demand.
He noted that increased freight expenses and other operational pressures affected profitability during the first six months of the year.
According to Gaafar, slower consumer demand also contributed to the decline in earnings.
However, he said improved foreign exchange conditions helped reduce the company’s net finance cost by 89 per cent.
Net finance cost declined from N1.74 billion in H1 2025 to N187 million during the period under review.
“Despite these challenges, Cadbury Nigeria remains committed to delivering value to its stakeholders and will continue to drive business fundamentals, while increasing its Go-to-Market (GTM) capabilities,” Gaafar said.
The company said it would continue to focus on strengthening its market presence and improving operational performance.
Cadbury Nigeria appointed Gaafar as its new Managing Director in May 2026 to lead business operations and accelerate expansion across the West African region.
Before joining Cadbury Nigeria, Gaafar worked with several multinational companies, including Procter & Gamble, where he rose to the position of Commercial Vice President for Nigeria.
He has experience in business transformation, distribution expansion and scaling operations across multiple markets.
The company said Gaafar’s expertise includes Go-to-Market transformation, capability development and organisational growth.
His previous achievements include expanding direct distribution coverage in Egypt and building high-performing teams across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Cadbury Nigeria said his appointment reflects parent company Mondelēz International’s continued commitment to strengthening its operations and leadership across key markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The statement was issued by Frederick Mordi, the company’s Head of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs.
