The Chairman of SIFAX Group, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, has emphasised the importance of exceptional customer experience in building trust, strengthening customer loyalty and ensuring sustainable business success.

Afolabi said businesses seeking to maintain long-term relationships with their customers must go beyond meeting basic expectations by consistently delivering quality services that inspire confidence and encourage continued patronage.

He made the remarks during the company’s 2026 Customer Service Week celebration, held at its headquarters in Lagos.

According to the SIFAX Group Chairman, the organisation’s commitment to customer satisfaction has remained an important factor in the successes recorded by its subsidiaries across different sectors of the economy.

He explained that businesses must recognise customer experience as a fundamental component of their operations rather than treating it merely as a routine responsibility.

Customer Satisfaction Critical to Business Growth

Afolabi noted that trust and loyalty are essential to maintaining productive relationships between businesses and their customers.

He stressed that organisations must continually improve their service standards to meet changing customer expectations and strengthen their competitive positions.

Addressing customers during the celebration, the Chairman expressed appreciation for their continued confidence in the company.

“To our valued customers, as we celebrate customer service week, I would like to sincerely thank you our clients, for the trust and confidence that you have continued to place in us,” he said.

“Your patronage and partnerships inspire us to continually raise the standard of service we provide.”

Afolabi further explained that exceptional customer service involves creating positive experiences that encourage customers to maintain lasting relationships with an organisation.

“At SIFAX Group, we believe that exceptional service is not just about meeting expectations but about creating experiences built on trust, responsiveness and lasting relationships,” he stated.

His remarks highlighted the increasing importance of customer-centred business practices in an environment where consumers have growing expectations regarding service quality, reliability and responsiveness.

Afolabi Commends Customers, Employees

The SIFAX Group Chairman also acknowledged the contributions of customers and employees to the company’s development.

He noted that sustained patronage and productive business partnerships have encouraged the organisation to improve its service delivery across its operations.

Afolabi equally recognised the efforts of employees who interact with customers and contribute to maintaining the company’s service standards.

“On behalf of the board and management, I wish to express our deepest appreciation to you, our esteemed customers and members of staff for being an important part of our journey,” he said.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to going beyond customers’ expectations while maintaining relationships built on mutual trust.

Employees Remain Central to Service Excellence

Also speaking during the celebration, the Group Coordinating Director of SIFAX Group, Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, commended employees for their contributions to the organisation’s service delivery objectives.

Eniola-Jegede, who was represented by the Director of Operations and Strategy, Oliver Omajuwa, described employees as critical to translating the company’s business vision into positive customer experiences.

She explained that the quality of service delivered by employees plays an important role in strengthening relationships with customers.

According to her, SIFAX Group considers customer service a continuous responsibility that must be demonstrated in everyday business operations.

“To us at SIFAX Group, every day is a Customer Service Day because the customers are the lifeblood of our company,” she said.

“We have positioned ourselves to respond, service and exceed the expectations of our customers every day.”

She added that the celebration provided an opportunity to appreciate customers for their continued patronage while recognising employees whose efforts contribute to the company’s operations.

“This is to appreciate them for their continuous patronage and support, while we also acknowledge the role of our staff who are critical in delivering service to our customers,” she stated.

Customer Experience as a Competitive Advantage

Customer experience has become an increasingly important consideration for businesses operating in competitive markets.

Beyond the quality of products and services, customers often assess organisations based on how quickly their concerns are addressed, the reliability of service delivery and the effectiveness of communication.

For businesses operating across multiple sectors, maintaining consistent service standards can be particularly important.

Effective customer relationship management may help organisations retain existing clients, attract new customers through referrals and strengthen their reputation.

Similarly, responsiveness to complaints and feedback can provide businesses with valuable information for improving their operations.

A customer-centred approach also requires investment in employee development, internal communication and systems that support efficient service delivery.

These considerations reinforce the importance of the message delivered by SIFAX Group’s leadership during the celebration.

SIFAX Group Marks Customer Service Week Across Subsidiaries

The 2026 Customer Service Week celebration was observed across SIFAX Group’s subsidiaries through a series of activities designed to promote employee engagement, wellness and customer appreciation.

According to the company, the week-long programme featured health talks, medical checks, town hall sessions, wellness and fitness activities, customer visits and games.

The activities were intended to create opportunities for interaction among employees while reinforcing the importance of customer service within the organisation.

Different dress themes were also introduced throughout the celebration.

Employees participated in activities wearing traditional attire, old-school outfits, corporate clothing and sportswear.

The initiative combined customer appreciation with employee engagement, reflecting the company’s emphasis on recognising both customers and the workforce responsible for delivering services.

Employee Wellbeing Supports Service Delivery

The inclusion of health talks, medical checks and wellness activities also highlighted the relationship between employee wellbeing and organisational performance.

Employees who receive adequate workplace support may be better positioned to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

For customer-facing businesses, staff engagement and professional development can influence service quality.

Town hall sessions can also provide opportunities for management and employees to exchange ideas, discuss operational challenges and identify areas requiring improvement.

Although such initiatives do not automatically guarantee stronger customer satisfaction, they can form part of broader efforts to build a responsive workplace culture.

Customer Service Week Highlights Business Relationships

Customer Service Week is observed annually to recognise the importance of customer service and appreciate professionals responsible for supporting customers.

The celebration provides businesses with an opportunity to acknowledge customer loyalty, recognise employees and review their commitment to service excellence.

For SIFAX Group, the 2026 commemoration served as a platform to reinforce the role of trust, responsiveness and customer satisfaction in sustaining business relationships.

Afolabi’s message also underscores a wider lesson for organisations seeking long-term growth: customer loyalty must be earned through consistent performance and meaningful engagement.

As competition continues across different sectors of the Nigerian economy, businesses that prioritise reliable service delivery and customer relationships may be better positioned to retain clients and strengthen their market presence.

For SIFAX Group, the commitment to exceptional customer experience remains central to its stated approach to business development and long-term customer relationships.
