Nestlé Pure Life Named 2025 Product of the Year

Nestlé Pure Life has been named the 2025 Product of the Year by LEADERSHIP Newspaper, in recognition of its leadership in Nigeria’s hydration sector and commitment to environmental sustainability.

The prestigious award highlights products that demonstrate exceptional performance and impact within the Nigerian market. According to the newspaper’s board of editors, the selection was based on the brand’s consistent delivery of safe drinking water and its role in promoting awareness around access to clean water nationwide.

Nestlé Pure Life’s market leadership is anchored on its “protective water sourcing” approach and a multi-stage purification process enriched with essential minerals. The brand also stood out for adapting to evolving consumer needs, particularly with the introduction of its 33cl “on-the-go” bottle aimed at reducing water waste and improving convenience.

Speaking on the recognition, Business Executive Officer for Nestlé Waters, Olutayo Olatunji, emphasised the company’s focus on consumers.

“At the heart of everything we do lies our deep connection with consumers. This award underscores our commitment to not just delivering hydration but providing a reliable, premium experience that our consumers can trust every day,” he said.

Beyond product quality, Nestlé Nigeria has intensified efforts toward sustainable packaging. The company currently uses bottles made from 50 per cent recycled PET (rPET) and has introduced recyclable clear caps, significantly reducing its environmental footprint.

The Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Lead for Nestlé Nigeria, Victoria Uwadoka, noted that these initiatives reflect the company’s broader environmental responsibility.

“As a fast-moving consumer goods company, we remain steadfast in our commitment to caring for the planet. Through eco-friendly packaging and sustainable design, Nestlé Pure Life is taking concrete steps to reduce its environmental footprint and fulfil its sustainability commitments,” she said.

As part of Nestlé Nigeria’s product portfolio—which includes globally recognised brands such as MAGGI, MILO, and NESCAFÉ—Nestlé Pure Life continues to maintain a strong presence in the bottled water market.

With a range of options from compact 33cl bottles to larger family-sized formats, the brand remains a frontrunner in delivering hydration solutions while balancing consumer needs with environmental sustainability.
