The Nigeria–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced plans to integrate youth-driven start-up stakeholders into its development framework as part of efforts to strengthen innovation and build a sustainable ecosystem for youth participation in business and trade.
The resolution was reached during the 2026 NVCCI Business Meeting held in Lagos on 27 March, under the leadership of the Chamber President, Oye Akinsemoyin.
According to a communique issued after the meeting, the chamber said it aims to collaborate with government agencies, private sector actors, and international partners to create what it described as a “game-changing, enhanced and lasting youth-driven contribution ecosystem.”
The chamber further stated that it would incorporate youth-led start-ups with “disruptive initiative ideas” into its planning structure, describing the move as part of efforts to introduce fresh perspectives into trade and development strategies.
It added that the initiative is designed to strengthen innovation-driven participation among young entrepreneurs while expanding cross-border commercial engagement between Nigeria and Vietnam.
Beyond youth inclusion, the chamber also outlined preparations for the upcoming Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition scheduled for July 2026, which is expected to serve as a major platform for trade and investment engagement.
As part of the plan, NVCCI announced a seven-day public-private partnership delegation visit to Vietnam, covering Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from 26 July to 2 August 2026, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring logistics and investment opportunities.
The chamber said the initiative reflects its broader strategy to enhance Nigeria–Vietnam economic relations through innovation, trade facilitation, and structured international collaboration.
