Polaris Bank has announced a strategic partnership with Cyclotron Cycling Development Initiatives, popularly known as the Cyclotron Club, to strengthen its flagship wellness programme, “LiveWell by Polaris.”
The partnership, unveiled on Tuesday at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos, is designed to promote healthy lifestyles, preventive healthcare, and overall wellbeing among employees, customers, and communities nationwide.
The collaboration was officially marked with the unveiling of a co-branded cycling jersey, symbolising a shared commitment to advocacy-driven cycling and community wellness initiatives.
Speaking during the launch ceremony, the Executive Director of Retail and Commercial Banking at Polaris Bank, Chris Ofikulu, described the initiative as a major milestone in the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
“This partnership is a significant step in the evolution of LiveWell by Polaris and reflects our commitment to championing healthier lifestyles and meaningful social impact,” Ofikulu said.
He added that the collaboration with the Cyclotron Club, including support for its “Ride for Autism” campaign, would further expand the bank’s social impact initiatives while encouraging Nigerians to prioritise wellness.
According to Ofikulu, the bank sees personal health as a key contributor to national productivity and economic growth.
“Cycling is not only a globally recognised sport but also one of the most effective ways to stay physically fit. We are investing in the health and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve because we firmly believe that health is wealth,” he stated.
The Cyclotron Club is a non-profit association made up of professionals from sectors such as medicine, finance, and technology. The organisation uses cycling campaigns to raise awareness about social causes, with its “Lagos–Accra–Lagos Ride for Autism” receiving notable recognition for supporting families affected by autism.
Also speaking at the event, the Captain of the Cyclotron Club, Eziafakaku Nwokolo, praised Polaris Bank for its commitment to community wellbeing and preventive healthcare.
“We are delighted to partner with Polaris Bank, an institution that clearly values wellbeing and social impact. This collaboration will empower us to expand our advocacy efforts and support our professional cyclists to compete at both local and international levels,” Nwokolo said.
The “LiveWell by Polaris” initiative was created to shift attention from reactive medical treatment to preventive healthcare through fitness activities, wellness campaigns, and health awareness programmes.
The event concluded with a cycling skills demonstration by members of the Cyclotron Club, showcasing the discipline and athleticism involved in the sport.
Polaris Bank stated that the initiative reinforces its commitment to building healthier communities, encouraging positive lifestyle choices, and creating sustainable impact beyond traditional banking services.
