Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on Ndigbo to move beyond individual achievements and build stronger collective institutions capable of accelerating economic growth across the South-East.
Soludo made the call while speaking as special guest at the TEDxEnugu: Transcend Beyond Borders conference at the International Conference Centre in Enugu.
He argued that Igbo entrepreneurs and professionals had achieved significant success across Nigeria and internationally, but that these accomplishments had not been sufficiently converted into collective economic strength.
From individual success to shared institutions
Soludo said the region needed stronger structures to pool talent, resources and business expertise.
Collective institutions can help coordinate investment, support infrastructure development, improve access to finance and create opportunities that individual businesses may find difficult to pursue alone.
For the South-East, such cooperation could help strengthen industrial clusters, trade networks and regional economic linkages.
Cooperation and long-term development
The governor’s argument reflects a wider challenge facing regions with strong entrepreneurial communities: translating private wealth and individual business success into sustainable public and economic infrastructure.
Effective cooperation requires trusted institutions, transparent governance and a shared understanding of development priorities.
Soludo’s message was that collective action could help the region build more durable economic influence. Turning that ambition into results will depend on how businesses, community organisations and public institutions work together.
