Cadbury Nigeria Revenue Rises to N83.35bn in H1 2026 Despite Profit Decline

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has appointed Dr. Rasaq Adedoyin Salami as its new Chairman following the resignation of Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman, who stepped down after six years in the role.

The company announced the board changes in a notification signed by its Company Secretary, Afolasade Olowe, and issued to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public.

The appointments took effect on August 3, 2026. Cadbury Nigeria also named Mrs. Uwa Osa-Oboh as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

The board thanked Mr. Sulaiman for his years of service, noting that he joined the company as a Non-Executive Director in August 2009 before becoming Chairman on July 22, 2020.

During his tenure, Mr. Sulaiman contributed his expertise in management consulting, enterprise transformation, organisational development and corporate governance.

Before joining Cadbury Nigeria, he held leadership positions at Arthur Andersen & Co., Andersen Consulting and Accenture. He retired as Country Managing Director and Chairman of Accenture Nigeria in 2010.

Mr. Sulaiman has also served on the boards of several organisations, including ABSA Nigeria, SecureID Limited and Interswitch Limited. He was Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria from 2017 to 2021.

The new Chairman, Dr. Salami, joined Cadbury Nigeria’s board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in March 2026. He brings more than 30 years of experience in economics, public policy, academia and corporate governance.

Dr. Salami is the Chief Executive Officer of KAINOS Edge Consulting Ltd, an applied economics advisory firm he co-founded. He has also served on the boards of companies in the logistics, insurance, asset management, pensions and infrastructure sectors.

He previously chaired Prestige Assurance Plc and ARM Investment Managers Ltd. He also served as Chief Economic Adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari and Chairman of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

His international experience includes membership of the International Monetary Fund Advisory Group for Sub-Saharan Africa. He has also consulted for organisations such as the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and the former UK Department for International Development.

An academic, Dr. Salami is a member of the adjunct faculty at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, where he focuses on macroeconomic modelling, manufacturing transformation, financial sector reforms and market systems development.

Mrs. Osa-Oboh, the newly appointed Independent Non-Executive Director, is the Head of Corporate Development at Capital Alliance Nigeria, a member of the African Capital Alliance Group.

Before joining the company in 2013, she was the Chief Executive Officer of ReStraL Limited, where she advised businesses and government agencies on strategy, organisational effectiveness and performance improvement.

A lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988, Mrs. Osa-Oboh has built a career spanning legal practice, corporate finance, investment management, strategy and business leadership.

Commenting on the appointments, Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria, Mr. Ayman Fahmy Gaafar, commended Mr. Sulaiman for his contributions to the company.

“Mr. Sulaiman has added significant value to our Board and organisation in the last 17 years,” Mr. Gaafar said.

He expressed confidence in the new appointments, describing Dr. Salami as a respected economist, accomplished academic and former presidential adviser.

“We look forward to his contribution to our business success. In the same vein, we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Osa-Oboh, a multidimensional business leader, to our Board,” he added.

Cadbury Nigeria Plc is a subsidiary of Mondelēz International and manufactures products including the Bournvita beverage brand and confectionery products for consumers in Nigeria.
