Nigeria is set to unveil its first comprehensive Gas and Power Infrastructure Map at the 25th edition of NOG Energy Week, in a move expected to enhance investor confidence and improve visibility into the country’s energy assets.
The initiative is being developed under the Gas for Africa programme in partnership with NNPC Limited and is designed to provide a consolidated and detailed overview of Nigeria’s gas and power infrastructure.
The map will capture key assets across the energy value chain, including pipelines, gas processing facilities, power generation plants, liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, and major transmission networks. Industry stakeholders believe the project will help address long-standing challenges related to the absence of reliable and centralised data in the sector.
According to organisers, the publication is expected to serve as a strategic tool for investors, policymakers, and operators seeking to better understand opportunities within Nigeria’s energy landscape.
The infrastructure map will be launched alongside a comprehensive report on Nigeria’s gas industry, which has been described as the most extensive intelligence publication ever produced on the sector.
The report provides a full value-chain assessment, analysing developments since 2020 and highlighting investment opportunities across upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the gas industry.
Stakeholders say the initiative could mark a turning point in efforts to attract capital, improve planning efficiency, and support long-term growth in Nigeria’s energy sector.
